Terms of Service

Plain language, no traps. Last updated 11 June 2026.

What SHIFTR is

SHIFTR generates short cinematic AI videos ("Rival Reels") from photos you upload. Output is generative: every render is unique and results vary. We describe honestly what the tech can and can't do on our FAQ page.

Your content

You must own (or have permission to use) every photo you upload, including your mate's face — get their OK first. Don't upload photos of minors, strangers, or public figures. You keep all rights to your photos; you grant us the licence needed to process them into your reel.

Your reels

Entry plans include a personal-use licence for your generated reels. Midnight Club and Pro Build include commercial use, as listed on the pricing page. You're responsible for how and where you post your reels.

Acceptable use

No attempts to generate violence against real people, explicit content, harassment, or anything illegal. Renders that violate moderation rules are blocked; blocked renders aren't billed.

Payments

Prices are listed in AUD on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel any time from your account and keep access for the period you've paid for. Reel credits don't roll over between months. Failed renders aren't charged. First reel not share-worthy? We re-roll it free, once.

Refunds

See our Refund policy for the specifics — the short version: failed renders are never charged, your first paid reel gets a free re-roll, and billing mistakes are always fixed.

The service

AI rendering depends on third-party infrastructure, so occasional delays or failures happen; we surface render status honestly and don't bill failures. We may update features, scenes and pricing over time — changes never apply retroactively to what you've already paid for.

Liability

SHIFTR is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, we're not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
